Thank you to those that reply to my emails regarding the sordid things happening in CA water world. If you're short on time, please just watch the videos, then understand that the water you see in the aquaduct was meant to flow out to the SF Bay and Delta, not sold for profit.

It is incumbent upon every Californian, especially Northern Californian to understand the term "paper water". Do not get suckered by thinking that this is a farming-to-feed-the-world.... Unless you plan to fight world hunger with pistachios, POM, alfalfa, cotton, and cuttie oranges.

Very good short and concise video (see above) that summarizes the scheme by Resnick, Westlands, et. al. This video doesn't scratch the surface of all the corruption, but it provides a good basis for understanding the collusion between tax payer funded Federal and State Public Trust Agencies and the Water Contractors. It has a water-for-salmon message, but the video was put together by Salmon Water Now. Hopefully, in short order, the general public will wake up so that it is not just fishing conservation groups fighting the good fight. Then, maybe videos of this nature will be produced in greater detail by more mainstream activists.

I would very much appreciate those of you with Facebook accounts to reference the links above. I honestly think that the lack of public outrage and request of accountability from "Princess DiFi", Boxer, Brown, Guvinator, Steinberg, Gray Davis, Pete Wilson, Gavin Newsome, H. Clinton, Obama, McCain, et. al. is due to lack of awareness or caring. Maybe someday, there will be enough interest to demand accountabilty, but I surmise that by then, the rigging will be so one side it will be too difficult to unravel.

So, what has been done to combat the problem:

Here are some links to articles on actions we (CSPA) are taking to rectify the damage done by the Public Trust Agencies in collusion with the Water Contractors....Long and expensive lawsuits that WE shouldn't have to file if the Agencies obeyed the laws of the land!

Please note that CSPA's annual budget is roughtly $80K a year. It's all based on contributions by donors, like me. $80K is a drop in the bucket when compared to the warchest of Resnick and Westlands.

If you have any suggestions on how to rid our state of these now corrupt Public Trust Agencies short of a revolution, I'd like to hear about them....

Actually it's a no-win situation for the average citizen. The signs you see driving down the 5 all say it's about jobs but it's actually about OWP all over again but in a rural setting. The vast majority of the produce harvested here is shipped to Europe and while there is a decent number of people employed year round the bulk of the jobs goes to migrant workers...

Add in to the mix that groups like the ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council - http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/pssst-wanna-buy-a-law-12012011.html ) are essentially "get legistlation to help you passed here" farms for large business and it's very clear why we have the problems we do with the pumping from the delta.

1) Mahigeer didn't not appoint himself Moderator, he simply asked a question. How is that moderation? Now had he demanded that the OP to post the videos in a specific place, he would have crossed the line. He did not. All he asked was if this was the right forum for the post, no different than if someone posts a boat report in the Pier/Surf forum and someone else asks them if it belongs on the OT board.

2) Videos that people want ARCHIVED and saved go to the Video Forum. These videos are only put there after they are approved by Ken or Myself. Anyone is allowed to post a link to a video AS LONG AS it does not contain profane language, or violate any other posting rules, and relates to the topic at hand.
3) Not sure what the whole Gitmo comment had to do with anything...... If you want to spout off about non fishery related politics there are plenty of other forums where you can do so, but not here.

4) Please remember to watch your language (refer to the posting rules if in doubt).....

5) Since I think this is a relevant topic and has some good info, I am going to leave this thread, but I am deleting and/or modifying some of the posts. I will leave peoples ability to post replies for now, but if this keeps going down the same path I will cut that ability off and those posting negative things and/or derailing the thread will be dealt with.
