Not sure is it the reel problem, or this suppose to be like that, since is a old design reel.

When i turn the handle counter clockwise, usually for normal reel, it should not able turn, but my jigmaster can turn about a inch counter clockwise, now the handle just moving back and forward.....

So i can't lock my jig on my rod now, everytime i tried to turn the handle tight, the handle will just turn counter clockwise for a inch, and it become loose agian.....

try setting your clicker on the left side of the reel, worth a try.

I am supposing "without being able to physically see it" that there isn't anything wrong, try placeing the jig hook and reeling down untill the spool clicks in the next notch, you should also back the drag all the way off when your finnished fishing for the day and ingage the clicker on the left side to keep the line from comming loose, hope that helps...mutt.

sounds like an anti-reverse issue.

I don't think that is a good idea muttfishr, since my jigmaster have problem again, and that made me lost a fish last week.!!!

I thought i caught a big ray last week, the ray was keep pull out lines non stop, the drag was like nothing to that ray, i was thinking either that was a monster ray or my drag was fked up~~

And of course, at the end, the line broke....and i tested my drag, it was able to use my hand power to pull out lines even the drag was tight all the way.

If the line broke I'm guessing your drag is fine. The old school 500's are not known for getting a good amount of drag pressure but you should still have no problems bringing in a big ray. I use a narrowed down old school 500 (the purplish one) and it works fine for big sturgies for me. What type of drags are you using? I can still pull out line by hand on mine even with the drag cranked down too.

That is a stock star drag i was using....
i was using 30lb pline w/ 50lb leader.

The ray was keep pulling the lines, the drag did stop the pulling for a sec once a while, and i tried to turn the handle to reel in, but it just keep slip...handle was turning, and the reel is not turning, i hope you get what i mean..

I just can't even reel in a single inch of lines....

I know what you mean. If a fish is running in the opposite direction of you it's not a good time to reel. Look in the video section at my sturgeon video. The reel I'm using is a 505hs. (Narrowed down though). Once again, not a whole lot of available drag poundage. But still, I never cranked "against" the fish. I could still pull off line with my hand but still got the fish in by letting my rod do the work, not my reel.
