Yeah, I know it's not ground-breaking but, man, plain ol' steamed lobster is deeeeeeeelicious and this was my first spiny lobster so I wanted to do it right. A tablespoon of sea salt, 1/2 cup of white wine, about 2in of water at the bottom of your pot. Get your boil going and then steam the whole lobster for 15-20 min (depending on size, but as with any lobster, don't overcook). Grab some hand towels and carefully twist off the tail (the shell and innards are hot!), cut shell down the middle, and remove vein that runs through. Don't forget to break off those legs or to grab the meat that might be stuck on the carapace! Serve with warm butter.

Letting em thaw out

Corn, red potatoes, brown mushrooms

Our guest of honor (2lb 11oz)

Lobster makes any meal fancy-schmancy

Saving this for later (this one weighed about 1.5lbs)

I'm getting hungry just typing this up... Smile

You wouldn't mind sending me a couple of those lobsters so I can try this dish would you? Looks real yummy. Hope to try it someday.

Eugene:
Learned a neat and easy trick from Hashem, B4 (preferred) cooking bug (or after[not 4 me]) break off one of the straighter antennae and insert it into the anus as far as you can, while twisting it slightly, pull out, and the entire tail vein comes out with it. Worked great 4 me when I tried it on my 1st and only Malibu bug.
