Does anyone know when it is possible to get a 2010 Ca. fishing license ? If I have a fishing trip planned Dec.30-Jan.3 do they sell the 2010 license early so that I am legal on the January dates ? I could not find an answer to this in the Ca. D@FG site...

Thanks for any help, Mike

I think the new license can be purchased starting Dec. 15th (maybe). Or that's what I heard from a cashier working at the walmart outdoor dept.

Funny, I just asked the walmart cashier in sporting goods like 30 minutes ago. Unfortunately he said he hasn't been in California long enough to know. As far as I can remember though, it is always out early enough for Christmas.

You might check with a DFG zone office. I got mine from the Monterey Office for this year. They should be able to tell you when and if you are close to one you can get them there.

I would check with a local tackle shop that is also a license agent. They should know. They are usually available before Christmas, as I always get one in my my stocking Smile

I talked to a Warden the other day. He told me you can now purchase a license online through the DF&G web page.
