Jordona Santiago of Martinez Bait & Tackle is reporting good fishing this week. Looks like the middle of the Mothball fleet on up through the East end is still the place to be for sturgeon. The Martinez shoreline/pier on up through Pt. Edith is best for striper. Grass shrimp has produced the most sturgeon, anchovie and grass shrimp gave up the most striper although bullhead/mudsuckers have caught several unreported fish. The tides for this weekend are great all the way through. All incoming and outgoing tides are strong. Martinez bait's Randy Hedrick caught a 21" striper on anchovie from the shoreline. Trevor Rose of Orinda caught a 21" striper at bouy 4 on grass shrimp along with several shaker sturgeon. Isidro Abon of Concord caught a 28"/8 lb. striper along the shoreline on grass shrimp. Steve Schadegg of Pleasant Hill caught a limit of striper with a 26 and 32" on anchovie at Pt. Edith. C! atching sturgeon were Steve Clark of Martinez with a 61"/60 lb'er at the fourth row of ships on grass shrimp. Duane Stymans of Hayward caught a 48"/23 lb. sturgeon at the fourth row on grass shrimp as well. A few sturgeon were caught at the East end of the fleet but not officially reported.
