Which rods, models, etc? And how much do they cost? IMO, They both make some good rods, but there are quite a few lami's that are cheap. Could be the same with St Croix. I should also add that Hi's tackle is selling there old model Clarus rods at 20% off. I just baught one and it cost me 48$. Good deal for a good rod.

I would go with the St. Croix for sure...

The Lami Classic Glass series is more suited for trolling/downrigger fishing, it has moderate action which means lots of flex most of the way down the blank...

The St. Croix Triumph has decent components, is lighter in weight, and is a fast action rod, much better suited for plugging, easier to set the hook with, etc...

Definitely the St. Croix in my opinion.

Alot of Lamis are made with cheap guides and cork. The St Croix rods usually have high quality guids and handles. I also think St Croix has either 5 year of lifetime warranty. Alot of Lamis only has 1 year warranties. I think there has been board members in the past who had problems with lami. Whichever one you get let us know how you like it.
