Here's a video I did a while back fishing off the rocks along the coast near Palos Verdes. It basically shows you how to catch opaleye and other fish off the rocks using floats. Opaleye can be hard to catch.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Omj7bdlC9Pc Part 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Occ-3OhrAUI Part 2

Its about 20 minutes total. It shows how to set up your rod and line and tackle as well as how to fish. The first part is mostly setting up, and the second part is mostly fishing.

The areas around San Pedro and Palos Verdes are my favorite places to fish.

Awesome videos. I have been asking questions of people for weeks to get this kind of info. What area in PV is this? I have fished the rocks just a bit south/east of Whites point, and a cove out in PV. Been skunked, but I still have fun.

Thanks again.

Anywhere there is 1. rocks 2. deep water 3. kelp 4. calmer water.

opals dont care too much for rough water. If you see lots of garibaldo I generally dont catch much or vary many opals.

This particular place is near the lighthouse on the 101 at Palos Verdes. I dont know if it is stillopen. An unreliable source said it was closed but I havent been back as I had to move. Its at the very end of hawthorne. If you take hawthorne and go to the left you will pass the ighthouse and come to a parking are awith a walkdown to the beach. Theres rocks there to fish off of. The end of hawthorne has parking for the walking trail you can walk down the cliff, its dangerous though so use common sense and caution. there is or was last year a well used trail going down, amke sure you use the right one or you may fall off the cliff. Go at your own risk. PLEASE pick up your trash and whatever else you can pick up on your way up. Please. The Twin hoarbor area of Catalina is another good spot, the avalon pier, King Harbor (big ones inside but they are line shy). The best places are around kelp close to the rocks it seems in my experience anyway.

Hello:

Nice video! I met you two years ago when you purchased your fishing rod in Posu fishing store in San Gabriel.
It is great that you are able to make this video. Very helpful !

Old post, still cool to see though!

Did a Google search and this link looked promising: http://web.userinstinct.com/7478366-posu-internatl-corp.htm

Let us know!
