I've tried steaming them & baking them and then dipping them in a garlic butter sauce. I thought it was only ok, the owl limpets have quit a bit of meat on them. I would suggest pounding them out though b/c they are pretty tough. I think periwinkles/turban snails taste better but not nearly good as clams, squid, whelk, moon snails, crabs, mussels, oysters, and abalone. If anyone catches a moon snail or kellet's whelk off our coast, you should try them. They are delicious.

I saw a nice sized moon snail a few years back. Didn't take it because i didn't know the regs on moon snails.
