|I've eaten larger ones steamed whole, Chinese style like rockcod with a soy/sesame oil dressing with green onions. You could try it with fillets as well, just reduce the time cooking. I recently had all this ocean whitefish...usually not such a fan of whitefish. I tried frying in the flour/egg/breadcrumb and on another occasion the same except panko instead of bread crumb. Both of those were like "meh". Then I tried it on a 3rd occasion with boxed tempura batter, deep fried and it came out delicious. I usually substitute a little decent beer for the water in the batter. It may be good with opaleye. Deep fried Tempura ling cod with the beer is also awesome...too bad I'm out.
