There are a few of the "sandcrab taste test" videos out on YT now. I think poor Matts got a "bad batch" or something because I've cooked them up 3 or 4 times now and they've always tasted just fine. Both soft shell and hard shell, breaded and fried like popcorn shrimp w/ a little lemon squeezed over them.

As with all these, tastes vary haha but still, I wouldn't turn them down if they were prepared right.

LOL, maybe another fisherman's lie -- "sandcrab tastes bad".

However, if everyone starts to accept eating them. We will run short of baits on the beach.

Also, I think the entire surf eco-system depends on them.

I've had them fried extra crispy and they were delicious.
Like crabby popcorn shrimp....

Had them when I was a kid. Lol The trick is to get give them a good sand rinsing gradually to cleaner water.

Met a 3rd grade kid a while back who told me how he ate them with his family while beach camping. He said they taste just like shrimp and they made a soup with them. I bet if you started selling them for $9 for a 1/2 dozen from some hipster foodie truck you'd have a lines of people and copy cat food trucks in no time.
