A quick report just in : a small batray just caught. Took all of 10 minutes. Small, but enough pull however to embarrass an unsuspecting angler with his drag locked down to loose his rod. You may say, batray, really Red?! Well, this is where the story begins and ends. I am really just getting out for the first time today for some fresh air. Decided to "pre-fish" the memorial get-together August 18th (details in link below). No steelhead rods today. Don't feel like fooling around on the rocks at night. I hit foster city last night from 7-10:30. Pretty slow night despite the absolutely perfect weather.

Tally for the night:
-2 small bat rays
-1 small leopard shark

But is was good to be back on the rock pile.

I'd love to tag up with you and fish one of these night Red. My time in the bay area is limited as we are pursuing a relocation out of state.
