Good afternoon all! I have a bit of an odd request... Does anybody have any experiance "vertical jigging" or casting from behind the surf (aka from a boat/kayak) for surf perch?
I just finished my 14' aluminum and would love to drift doran on a nice summer day and be able to catch SOMETHING. If not perch, then a run to the estero mouth for rock fish will be plan B.

For those curious, here is my little 14 footer:

Its possible on a flat day at Doran. There's also pile perch inside the harbor areas.
If you're going for rockfish, then remember that boat-based angling isn't open until April 15th.

You could also try launching from Miller and vertical jig in Tomales Bay.
