|Are molds for weights expensive? or hard to find?
I have seen a few at Fisherman's Warehouse in Cupertino a long time ago.. but its been for ever since i have been in there.. I will check next weekend when i go to stock up for the Catalina trip.
if a mold is hard thing to find for a decent price... do you have to use cast iron for the mold?.. or can you get away with an aluminum mold?
If aluminum works.. I can make custom shapes.. I have access to CNC equipment.
So far I have only used Do-It brand molds wich are solid aluminum and they Run from about $38-50 each....but they have a HUGE selection of types......I have a mold for 1,2,3,4oz inline trolling sinkers and one for No Roll Sliding sinkers which you can cast with a wire in if you don't want to use the weight as a slider
If you have access to CNC machining equipment.....get some good aluminum stock from a scrapyard and you are golden
