We got out there at 9:30 and got setup at a dock at 9:45. We chummed some corn (legal in the delta) and no hits until 12:00 when I got a 6lb 3oz common on sweetcorn.

Then we ate lunch and came back at 1:00, then at 4:00 my float went down and it turned out to be a 10" striper with a taste for corn.

At 6:00 we moved over to another spot where I caught a 12inch splitail after 10 minutes.

Then at about 8:15 I saw a big carp eating the bread I put out so I casted up my UL rod spooled with 6lb baited with floating bread, as soon as I casted she came up and slurped it down. After 20 minutes we got her close to see her true size. She looked over 20lbs and after another 10 minutes she was in the net. She weighed in at 23lbs. You can catch delta carp on UL tackle. After that we headed back home.

Nice carp , biggest fish I caught as a kid was one about that size further down the slough at the old boat ramp , floating dock about 45 yrs. ago ! See you got yours by the dead end , its really nice down there now that they renovated the waterfront area . That spot used to be real hot for salmon in the fall , most likely still is , use a big ole Mepps as I recall .
