i need a spinning rod but idk what rod would be best for tossing lures for perch and striper. i dont want to heavy of an action.

Any rod from 7'-10' would probably work. I have a 8'6" Shimano Clarus medium power right now and I love the action. Even a small perch would give the rod somewhat of a good fight. There's also the 8'6" St. Croix Triumph and 8'6" G.Loomis Classic Steelhead which are both medium power. All have fast action as well and do well with 8-17lb test. If you're on a budget I'd go with the Shimano Clarus or St. Croix Triumph. If not, bring it up a notch to the G.Loomis.
