ahh very cool. there was a thread last week in off topic showing similar footage of an atlantic hali following bait for a while before it struck and we were wondering if a california hali would act the same way.

Wow, im actually surprised by how much time the first hali took to inspect the bait. A fish like a halibut, I would expect to be a little lazier on not follow that far. Maybe he/she just wasnt very hungry. The second fish that hooked up did bite on the initial approach, hungrier fish?
