got to the beach around 4 pm overcast, seaweed & found a nice spot where there was no 1 around me then all the sudden all the surfers & swimmers decided to swim & surf in front of me, after a 1/2 hr of this i wasn't having much luck, so decide to be nice and move down the beach more, found some decent sized sand crabs and no buddy around, kept getting taped by small perch but no hook ups, i was standing in about ankle deep water & every x a wave would come up on the beach i would feel some good sized fish hit my foot or feel them run by. so i know they where there, so i casted out sideways and let the current take my bait in, then i felt tap tap PULL, set the hook and felt shoulders, fought it for about 5 min and saw a bright yellow tail & bright silver body, SPOT FIN, got it on the sand, measured it took a pix & released it, had no luck with the squid i threw out on my shark rod except of a couple of nice hits but no drag pullers, anyway long story short caught 2 12-14 corbina and swiched my surf rod over to squid and keep getting hit with squid couldn't hook it up what ever it was probable a shovel nose, left at 10pm
