Headed out to the MB aquarium at 10:30.

Great stuff, minus the prices of everything. Ate a 13 dollar hamburger for lunch.

Proceeded throughout whole aquarium a good 2-3 times. My favorites were the kelp forest and the open ocean.

Left around 2:30 headed to the CGJ

It wasn't very hot. Ocean was fairly calm till 5oclock. Looks like it was low tide from around 2:30 to 4.

Casted out between the rocks and kelp with my 10' surf rod and i set up an 8' rod shortly afterwords.
Tossed out the 8' and went to check on my 10'. looks like it was caught on the rocks and I reeled it in and it was stuck. I put my rod down to work the line with my hands. I see what looked like a grassy rockfish on the other end. I made the mistake of letting go of the handline to try to reel with the rod in instead of continuing to pull it up. The fish swam back into the rocks while I was reeling and came off the hook while I was reeling.

Rigs were hi-lo leader with size 1 and 6 hooks. Market shrimp-headless, and squid- chunks strips and whole.

No other hookups for the day. I did manage 2 batstars and one sunflower star. Lots of snags and lost hooks.

Lots of divers were out there and not a lot of fishermen.

Left at around 6:30.

Took a nap and shower and headed out to the SC wharf at 9oclock. No bites. Really windy and looks like there was a lot of debris in the water. Not sure what it was. Rigs were hi low with squid chunks. It was cold so i left around 10:30.

Hope everyone else had some better luck

WOW, You had a full and FUN day, Kelvin!

The water looks awesome at CCG... Always loved the big tank at the Monterey Bay Aquarium... Man, those blue fins are gigantic... The Jelly fish exhibition is always cool!

Better luck next time... Thank you for the report, brother... and hope to see ya on the rocks sometimes!

Thanks for the report. Hopefully the fish will cooperate more next time. The aquarium sure will get the juices going! Let me know if you are headed back that way, maybe I can join you next time![/code]

Thanks for the CGP report, Ya, when the divers are around the fishing ain't the best, try fishing down at the end "in the corner" if your wanting RF, fish inbetween the kelp and the rocks, you can cast past the fence down the lane between the two. I've heard of some big rays caught by casting out into the sand, tho I've not seen it yet, I wonder if they ever catch halibuts out there? Looks like a good place to me, but what do I know?...mutt.
