Well Went this afternoon around 4Pm, Saw a few fishermen there. One guy was there for 3 hours before i gotten there he got skunked.

I setup a sliding rig with 25lbs test mono, Daiwa reel 50h Sealine or guitar fish or Halibut with a sardine(i caught from santa monica a few days back). Nothing. the bait was torn to shred so suggest it was either crabs or very small fish.

Also had another rig for light tackle 15lbs test two hooks #6 used sardine and squid, got solid bite on sardine part brought in a Jack Smelt about 12 inches pretty big one, I gave it away, since nobody was catching anything.

Then start Sabiki rig tossing it out NOTHING. I think the sardine and two was getting most actions.

While my Other rig the bait was getting eaten up by something, its was getting high tide around 7:45 pm so i left after about 2 hours. Sorry no picture, Just one fish.

When i left other fishermen were showing up, about 5-6 of them. Im sure they'll be fishing for lobster or crabs with the treble line hook-ups which is illegal.

Wind was pretty strong, say 10 mph water was pretty clean i must say. maybe next time ill go fish Dockweiler beach probably like next tuesday or wednesday.

Im going to Big Bear lake this weekend going to try the lake for bass and catfish. ill be there for two nights.

So keep fishing!!!

Going to try The Toad Beach again, today around 4pm to 7:30pm. The short side of the breakwater and wearing a hat straw hat. Hopefully there is parking if not its going to be a short trip.

I dont like paying for parking there since i get skunked most of the time, and is illrevelant to pay for it, when it should be free, since it a public beach and on public land!
damn them moochers!!

Welp, made a trip down, and could not find a parking at 4 pm NOTHING not even paying parking, everything was full unless i wanted to walk a mile or two(haha yeah right!!).
But the ocean looks nice a bit choppy but very nice indeed. I drove down to Grand and playa vista "Dockwieler Beach and there was a few good spots ill say about 20 spots for parking, but 10 bucks for a few hours of fishing i rather fish on a private dock where the bait in unlimited for 3 hours.

SO no fishing at marina del rey breakwater today. SO nothing to report except i saw few fisherman down the breakwater but i couldnt get out and see what they were getting if anything.

So again Nothing to report

Just good weather a bit windy but good weather.

Happy Memorial Day!

Thanks for the report. You mentioned in a post a while back that North side of the channel was closed for some kind of construction...do you know if it still is?

Its open Now North side, The Farther North is always open.

They are dredging, making the marina deeper. i think about 6 to 10 ft deeper, with all the storms they had and high waves i think it was needed maybe the trash at the bottom, but they were removing sand loading into a barge. looking better though deeper mean better fishing eventually. Lots of movement going on.

But i have not tried the north side yet. Water looking really nice now, not as murky as it use to be.

a guy got one mackeral from the breakwater, he had a strong bite but broke off when it got to the jetty.
