Nice fishing.

Did not know that the spiny lobster came up that much north.

It was Goleta pier; right?

I have seen them at Goleta before...unfortunately in the hands of a poaching family.

@ mahigeer - I have some friends who dive and they say you would be surprised at how many there are around goleta and some big ones at that.

@ burger - that's unfortunate about the lobster poachers so many people lack understanding of conservation and just seem to think we have endless supplies of everything. I showed up to gaviota a couple weeks back to find the end of the pier covered with baby spider crabs left to die in the sun, There must have been 30. I'm sure someone was tired of catching them again.... pure ignorance!

Uhg, that would have been depressing to see that. Yeah, a little ignorance can do a lot of damage. Again, thanks for the pics!

Nice man, those spider crabs are great tasting. And a big skate, man I still want one of those.

You put your time on the water dude and it's always nice to be rewarded with something to show for it. Then you've got icing on the cake being able to enjoy your hobby with your significant other. Awesome dude. Great Job! Nice report and congrats of fish.
