I fished hairaisers after school from 5:00-6:30pm and caught a 22.5" halibut. I caught it on my new Revo reel.

Nice going! Nothing like a fish on a lure. How was the fight?

He didn't fight as well as the other halis I have caught.

Nowadays when a hali realizes he's hooked on Minnow's line, he figures it's all over for sure so why bother to fight.

Sorry Justin, I just couldn't resist.

Congratulations to you MM! You are becoming one young yet veteran angler. Nothing beats hooking a halibut using a lure.

Cheers to your present and future catches!

It's looks like a california halibut to me, we don't get many pacific halibut up here. We get many california halibut though.

I certainly had to do a double-take. The way the spines were resting sorta gave it a diamond-shaped look common with the Pacifics. Plus, the shape was probably a little enhanced by the wide-angle distortion that's common with many cameras. A good exercise in identification nonetheless!
