3rd on RF sashimi with Salty and Seabass, Ryan!

All Korean peeps I know think that it's OK to eat RF flesh raw as long as they can pick out visual worms. But the problem is that some parasite's eggs are transparent so you can't seem them all... thus it can still transmitted into your system and hatch inside of your body, Yikes!

If you're going to eat 'em raw, use dry ice to flash freeze at least for 72 hours (so much for the term 'flash') then thaw to serve.

Sin Coast told me about how he once ate grassie RF debris off of its skeleton while fileting... see what happened to him.

But then again, I went loco without eating any RF raw flesh...

Nice report! Haven't seen much activity from you, glad to hear you're still fishing. Sight fishing for lings seriously sounds so amazing, thanks for sharing that experience with us!

pete- yeah two ling limits in 2 weeks. im pretty stoked. the first 2 went quick. we fed 7 people that very night. panko breaded and baked. wasnt my favorite but still good. but even though the next 2 lings were smaller, much more fight. hookin up 7-8 feet out in probably 10-12 ft of water off live bait, standing on slippery and jagged rocks with sneaker waves to watch out for. that was intense.

and yea salty it wasnt too deep, but the polarized shades did help out big time. actually, i guess 10-12 ft is pretty deep now that i think about it.

NICE LINGS MBAY. NICE REPORT I WISH I WAS SITTING AT UR TABLE..........LOL

MBay, that's so sick. If it hasn't already been said, 'mark your calander.' -Thanks Ken; pfic does it for us. Unlikely, there isn't a pattern to it. Find it and you're god, in my world. Flipping to cruising lings????? Come on; that's sick.

Had to edit to say, "Good job not falling off the rocks after ya spotted them. I'd of probaly tripped over every rock."

hah slowriprun! i know i dont have to say it because im sure all of you know it. it was insane. at one point, there were 3 of em down there. the only time you could spot em was when they would swim around. once you spotted that and catch where they lay down, you would be able to keep a visual. but other than that, they blend in very well and it was very difficult to just pick em out off the rocky ocean bottom.

in the past, i have seen a couple lings cruise by, one in damn near half a foot of water. but this time was different beacause thy didnt just cruise by, they cruised in, right under our feet. i mean, i had deemed this to be one of my "ling holes" sometime ago, but that was just redonkulous.

i also had a chat with pete about the RF sashimi. a buddy of mine had taught me how he and his father have been preparing their RF sashimi for immediate consumption and they have been doin it for decades. but after pete told me about those worm eggs that i never thought of before, well, i think itll be sometime before i have anymore raw rockies =P

Just a little word on these parasites, I've always heard that saltwater parasites are imcompatible with our systems, thus they cannot live inside us, freshwater parasites on the otherhand are perfectly happy inside our bodys and can cause some horrible consiquenses, heart, liver, eye, & brain decease ect. So go ahead and eat yer fill of that saltwater (raw fish), parasites are the least of your worrys, start thinking heavy metal poisoning (mercury) or how 'bout all that lead SS and DSSH lose when they bang the rocks with their "howitzer" casts? I know, I know, lead does not permeate the environment,,,Maybe one of our up and comming student doctors could give us a definative answer on these parasites...mutt.
