Today after a fruitless excursion at the windy and cold beaches, I headed out to the empty jetty at 1pm.

On the calmer side I threw out a white, twin blade bass spinner bait and let it hug the shoreline deep.

Got a good grab and fish on for two seconds. I couldn't find the fish again.

bait: white bass spinner bait that you usually see on Saturday morning tv shows
gear: spinning gear with 15# mono

I've had some great perch days on the ocean side of that jetty and caught quite a few sand sole in the channel side of the jetty. Be careful out toward the end since waves can wash over the jetty at times.
