Went to Mission Bay to soak some bait.
Nothing. Nadda. Zip.
Good current, clear water.
Saw some other fisherman and they were having the same results.
This crazy bird was hanging around, anyone know what
kind of bird it is? I think it might be a Kingfisher?
Until next time, a great day to all!!!!

It's called a Black-Crowned Night Heron, Nycticorax nycticorax

They have an incredible ability to remain motionless, but move quickly when there are small fish involved. Smile

Unscientifically-speaking, they have always brought me good luck in the bays at night.

Sounds like our Blue Herons up here on the lake. They sit perfectly still for long periods of time and then suddenly they have a small fish in their beak, just amazing as well as awesome.

Have you tried by the jetty? There are often some fish there even while the sandy shore species are off their bite.
