Former Assemblymember Pedro Nava has been appointed to a Blue Ribbon Citizen Commission (BRCC) which will help develop a strategic vision for the California Department of Fish and Game.
The new citizens commission is part of the implementation of AB 2376 (Huffman). The bill requires the California Natural Resources Agency to convene a cabinet-level committee to help develop policies which will improve and enhance the Department of Fish and Game's capacity and effectiveness in fulfilling its public trust responsibilities for the protection and management of the state's fish and wildlife, for their ecological values, and for the benefit of the people of the state. The report will be presented to the governor and legislature.

Let's hope this 'Blue Ribbon' commission is more open than the Blue Ribbon Task Force that spearheaded the MLPA ... no more hidden agendas!
