Okay, so this is really off-topic.
I want to make marinated shrimp burritos and was just trying to decide which would better for the shrimp. Any of you good cooks out there, which do you think?

a chili tequila w/lime base or a wine base for the marinade? Any other "bases" are welcome! Wink

Unless you are working with top quality, FRESH shrimp, they are really rather bland when cooked, so I'd opt for the marinade with a little chile in it. That way the shrimp won't disappear into the depths of your burrito.

Thanks mom, that's exactly what I was thinking when I wrote the question!

1. 1 Tsp. of Lawry's Seasoning Salt
2. 1 Tsp. of Black Pepper
3. 1/2 Tsp. of Garlic Salt
4. 1/2 Tsp. of Red Pepper Powder (I buy mine at San Jose Fleamarket from the Mexican lady.)

I like minced garlic, black pepper and 1/4 cup of white wine and water. bring water to a simmer and throw and pinch of saffron in. let cool and add to shrimp. BAM! Golden Shrimp.

Wow, thanks for all the input. I went with tequila, lime, chili, garlic, a smidge of sea salt and cilantro (for James!)
The shrimp in the buritos were awesome; unfortunately, my rice cooker broke and the rice was still barely on the grainy side. Man, that rice cooker was over 20 years old... I'm gonna miss it. Sad
Thanks again for all the input, I'm going to have to try the pepper recipes also.

I like the sound of d.t.r.b.'s Golden Shrimp. It's going to be on my list to try.
