The Ventura Pier, in of course, Ventura Ca, is a very nice, long, (used to be the longest wooden pier in California, until a big ol' storm took off the last 100yds)Pier. The pier was repaired but the city didn't have the money to replace the missing end.

It's still a good 1/4 mile to the end though. Still made of wood except for the new pilings starting about 1/2 way down now they are steel.

Many species of ocean life can be observed from the pier, Dolphins, Gray Whales, Thresher Shark, Pelicans, Seagulls, Egrets, Kerrloos, and many more feathered critters.

Fishing from the pier of course does not require a fishing license. You can catch a plethora of differant fish, from Sharks, Rays, White Sea Bass, Herring, Mackerel, and Sardines, 4 or 5 types of Perch, Lizard Fish, and many more.

The pier does not have a bait shop so make sure you bring what you need. We do have a large restaurant and snak bar and of course public restrooms, but all are located at the front of the pier.

So if your looking for a great place to fish and relax come on down. A real good bunch of fishermen and women are usually on the pier most days.
