Size, Age, and Growth
The maximum published length of the sevengill shark is 9.8 feet (3 m) total length and the maximum reported weight is 236 pounds (107 kg). Males reach maturity at 4.9 feet (1.5 m) in length while females become mature at approximately 7.2 feet (2.2 m). The life expectancy of this species is about 50 years.

Ken-- The need for proper scales for weight and length and fish actually landed. The Fury under Capt. Frank Miller and Marilyn once advertised their charter with a 7-gill that had 250# written next to it with no length. The fish had a lot of girth, matter of fact, it looked like it still had an undigested harbor seal still in its guts when they took the photo. Matty's length measurements are accurate and the weight seems correct for the girth of the fish he had. The Cayucos shark that you have pictured for 7-gill looks grossly over estimated . And, that's all I have to say about that... These are notes for you Ken..not to start any thread.
