greatest importance to inshore anglers since the MLPA is already beginning the planning for the So Cal area (Point Conception south). A major lesson learned from the north central coast MLPA process is that a plan needs to be in place at an early stage. I do not believe the group would try to shut down any piers due to their local economic importance but of course that leaves shoreline areas that are between the piers. The preference size would be an area that stretches six miles along the coast out to the three mile state water line. Many of these areas are valuable beach areas for surf fisherman, a few are important rocky area habitats. I know that the various environmental organizations already have maps drawn and I know that United Anglers and others are working on maps. At this time there are no So Cal UPSAC officers able to be on the stakeholder group. However, I believe we can still get the word out as to most important areas. But we need your help.

What areas, by county, would you rate the most important for inshore anglers, 10 being greatest importance, 1 being least important?
