I first hit the surf for a couple of hours for halibut. I put out a swim bait very similar to a smelt with rattles. There were no takers. I was told by an angler/surfer, that there are lots of leopards in the water. He had seen them while surfing and decided to but out some bait for them.

Around 7PM I decided to check out the Redondo Muni. I did not plan to fish since with a holiday I figured it would be too crowded.
According to Mr. Hong, the owner of the Bait/fast food/sit down restaurant, his business was lower than before. Perhaps due to the high cost of traveling.

I have been planning to start a pictorial report about the piers that I fish, so this was a good opportunity to start one.

What's the story here? Looks like they don't want the cleanings to go into the ocean ... is this common to other piers?

If I remember correctly, fish remains are ground up and dumped back into the water. Chum!

not allow fish remains to be dumped into the water. Recently talked to Ed Roberts who said that up at a cleaning station near a boat ramp in Eureka Bay, anglers are now required to put all fish scraps into bags before disposal into a dumper. Pity the crabs.

to the water. Thus the famous south corner. That unit was removed and this one in a new location not far from the old one was installed. This unit is plumbed to the city swer system.
They steam clean the pier everyday and now they put long dams to prevent soapy water to go in to the ocean. They use a unit like Zmbonie to vacuum the water off.

to add that the San Clemente pier is one pier that I noticed the water from the sink goes into the ocean. I believe most of the piers here are plumbed to sewer system.
