any idea how much it would weigh ?

(is the sound of me blowing my own trumpet).

I collected all the data I could on batray weights, plotted it against wingspan, generated a formula and thus the table in the link below (I can take no credit for the data collected however).

It would suggest the one you saw was ~180lbs, but the predictions for very large rays are heavily dependent on the data point that is the Mola Joe Record Ray. We need more data points for really big rays. Hopefully we can collect some at the MMD!

Mine; 35" wingspan, Wt. 33lbs
Table; 35" = 28.8lbs

Ray #2:
Mine; 43" = 63lbs
Table; 43" = 62lbs

Ray #3
Pregnant not weighed, released immediatly upon unhooking.
